Spotnana is building an open platform that connects humanity through next-generation travel experiences. Delivering on our product roadmap requires exceptional leadership and deep expertise.  As we continue to scale Spotnana, we are committed to hiring the best talent to help us achieve our core mission of modernizing the infrastructure of the travel industry.

Today, I am excited to welcome Vikram Bhambri as Senior Vice President of Product, a new role overseeing our product management organization reporting to me.

With over 25 years of experience as a business and product management leader, Vikram has a proven track record of creating and delivering successful products from inception to launch for companies including DataStax, Microsoft, Dell EMC, and IBM. Holding seven U.S. patents and two international patents, he has led large global teams to build scalable product portfolios. His expertise spans cloud, data platforms, and storage solutions, with notable achievements including the launch of AstraDB at DataStax, managing over $2B in revenue at Dell EMC, and leading the highly successful launch of the Microsoft Azure Platform.

We chose Vikram as our SVP of Product because of his extensive experience and proven success in driving product innovation at large enterprises. Vikram’s deep expertise building products for cloud and data platforms, combined with his strong track record of aligning products with business objectives, makes him the ideal leader to take Spotnana’s travel platform to the next level.

We spoke to Vikram about his unique approach to product, why he joined Spotnana, and what he’s most excited about in this new role.

What is unique about your approach to product?

“When building, launching, and developing products, you need to think of the customer first. That’s why I always take an outside-in approach to ensure our customers and partners are at the forefront of everything we do.

As a product leader, I am only successful when I am in tune with our customers and partners. I spend a lot of time listening to our customers’ feedback to address their pain points and deliver actual value.

I’ve learned that consistency is a vital success metric for product management. Instead of overpromising and under-delivering, I prioritize consistency. My goal is to consistently deliver high-quality work with my team, focusing on execution.

This mindset guides how I lead a product team and empower them to do their best work. I identify with the “player-coach” leadership style, where I serve as both a leader and an active contributor. This approach allows me to lead by example, stay closely involved in daily operations, and maintain a deep understanding of the work. I am fully dedicated to the team’s success and never ask my product managers to do anything I wouldn’t do myself.”

What made you decide to join Spotnana?

“I met Sarosh, Spotnana’s Founder and Chief Product Officer, through a mutual connection. After communicating with Sarosh for months, we both agreed it was the right time for me to join Spotnana’s product team. The travel industry is ripe for disruption, and Spotnana is at the forefront of driving change.

This industry has always fascinated me due to my family’s love for travel. I think Sarosh’s industry knowledge and my product management experience will enable our team to build the best Travel-as-a-Service platform possible. Having worked on platforms like Azure, I’m a huge believer in Spotnana’s strategy to provide an open travel platform that other companies can build on.

I am eager to contribute to Spotnana’s continued success and look forward to learning from Steve Singh, Sarosh, and other industry leaders.”

What are you most excited about in this new role leading product at Spotnana?

“I am excited to collaborate with this exceptional team to build world-class products that will influence the future of travel. It’s thrilling to be joining during this time of rapid expansion, and I’m hopeful my experience will enable me to make a positive contribution to Spotnana’s growth.”

Why is travel important to you?

“Travel is not just a professional interest for me; it’s a personal passion. It opens up your mind to new experiences. You meet new people, visit new places, and learn from new cultures. It changes your outlook and shapes the way you think. Each country I visit leaves a mark on my worldview and impacts my life in some way. For example, I traveled to the Maldives 20 years ago, and I still think about that trip often and know I will for the rest of my life.”
