We are excited to announce that Spotnana is using the latest version of Amtrak’s API with the highest level of connectivity available to bring Amtrak rail content to our global customer base.
Amtrak is integrated into the Spotnana Online Booking Tool and mobile app, offering a seamless and convenient way to book train travel in the U.S. along with all other types of travel.
Members of Amtrak Guest Rewards, Amtrak’s loyalty program, earn loyalty points when they book through Spotnana. Spotnana users can earn loyalty points when they book with any partner rail carrier. Amtrak joins Trainline on the Spotnana Travel-as-a-Service platform.
Rail options are essential for both business travelers and travel programs looking to reduce their carbon impact and receive additional travel options. Research conducted by Spotnana and the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) earlier this year found that half of U.S. travel managers expect an increased focus on sustainability in 2023, regardless of the size of their program.
We built Spotnana’s Travel-as-a-Service platform from the ground up to bring the most comprehensive content from the widest range of sources to business travelers around the world, while allowing travel managers to promote and track the sustainability of their programs.
Spotnana’s interface for booking rail features the same delightful and intuitive user experience as our interface for flights, hotels, and car rentals. Travelers can store railcard numbers in their profile to be applied seamlessly to future bookings. Travelers can also enter additional railcards or rail loyalty numbers during the search process once a particular route has been selected.
Our shopping display highlights the cheapest available rail fare based on a traveler’s search criteria, taking into account the traveler’s loyalty status. Travelers can select between different fare classes, including coach, business, and first class, along with ticket types allowing for refundable tickets, all in one seamless display.
At checkout, travelers are able to view the carbon output of their rail trip, as well.
Travel managers will soon be able to integrate carbon emissions from Amtrak bookings into their sustainable business travel policies, ensuring visibility into and control over the carbon output of rail journeys.
We will announce new integrations with additional rail networks in the coming months, along with enhanced functionality for our existing partners and users.
