Spotlight on Kamaldeep Singh: Building with a passion for travel

Kamaldeep Singh’s lifelong passion for travel led him to join Spotnana, where he is helping transform travel experiences for global businesses as our Senior Manager, Content and Travel Experience.

As a member of the Content and Commercials team, he builds relationships with travel providers and manages negotiated rate loading for our customers. Kamaldeep also oversees the partner relationship with our extended customer service team.

We spoke with Kamaldeep about the evolution of his role at Spotnana, his contributions to facilitating seamless traveler experiences, and his experience working with colleagues around the world.

Why did you choose to come work at Spotnana? What brought you to the travel industry?

“With over 13 years in the travel industry, primarily in Customer Service Operations and corporate travel, I’ve always been passionate about creating seamless travel experiences. When I learned about Spotnana, I was captivated by the groundbreaking product being built and its potential to redefine the industry.

During my interview with Spotnana Founder and Chief Product Officer Sarosh Waghmar, his passion for building not just a product but a lasting legacy truly inspired me. His vision aligned perfectly with my aspirations, and I knew I wanted to be part of this journey to bring The Perfect Trip to life.

My love for travel started in childhood and continues to fuel my career. From the thrill of airports to the joy of exploring new cultures, this passion keeps me excited and motivated in my work every day.”

Why is travel important to you?

“In my childhood, travel sparked a sense of wonder in me. I vividly remember running outside whenever I heard the roar of an airplane, my eyes glued to the sky as I imagined the excitement those passengers felt. That excitement only grew as I got older.

Travel, to me, is deeply emotional. It’s about connecting with people, experiencing new cultures, and breaking out of routines. It’s a reminder of how big the world is with so many places just waiting to be wandered. The phrase, ‘travel is a human emotion’ resonates with me because travel isn’t just about the destinations—it’s about curiosity, joy, and the universal desire to explore and connect.”

What are the innovative projects that you’re working on driving innovation in the travel industry?

“Alongside a team of highly talented and experienced colleagues, we’re tackling a critical challenge many companies face: delivering a consistent travel experience for employees while ensuring traveler safety and maintaining program efficiency.

Our modern architecture allows travel management companies (TMCs) and other partners to connect and build on our platform seamlessly. This empowers multinational companies to offer their employees a consistent travel experience, regardless of location, while still accessing localized content.

It’s a complex problem, but with our commitment and innovation, we’re determined to make this a reality.”

How have Converge, team offsites, and other in-person gatherings shaped your Spotnana experience?

“The joy and experience of meeting people in real life cannot be replaced by technology. I had the opportunity to attend my first Converge, our annual global offsite, earlier this year in Dubai, and it was truly a memorable experience. Converge, team offsites, and other gatherings provide an amazing opportunity to connect with colleagues beyond our day-to-day work. One of my favorite memories was meeting teammates I had only worked with virtually—it felt like catching up with old friends.

I feel a sense of belonging at Spotnana. Being recognized with the ‘Quarterly Spotter Award’ in front of 250+ colleagues at Converge was a moment of immense pride and validation of my contributions.

These in-person events foster collaboration, strengthen relationships, and remind us of the shared mission we’re all passionate about. The energy and camaraderie at these gatherings are a perfect reflection of Spotnana’s culture.”

What is your favorite thing about working at Spotnana?

“My favorite thing about working at Spotnana is the people and the culture we’ve built. Every day, I’m surrounded by passionate, innovative individuals who inspire me to think bigger and push boundaries. There’s a collaborative energy that makes solving even the most complex challenges exciting.

I love that Spotnana is on a mission to modernize the infrastructure of the travel industry, and being part of such meaningful work is incredibly rewarding. It’s a place where ideas are valued, and every contribution makes an impact.”

• What’s the best trip you ever took and why? Cornwall in the United Kingdom. It’s a beautiful drive to South West England with breathtaking and scenic views.
• What is your favorite thing to do at the airport? Watching planes as they take off, land, and taxi on the runway. I can do it all day 🙂
• What is your go-to movie or show to watch on a trip? Movie: Fast and Furious. Show: Big Bang Theory.
