I believe that having strong values that accurately reflect how you operate and treat one another is critical to building a successful business and positive workplace community. As a People leader, I have seen firsthand how values are the heart of the company. I also recognize that as companies grow and evolve, so should their values.
Recently, it became clear to me and the rest of Spotnana’s leadership team that it was time to redefine our values and operating principles. To do so, we held cross-functional focus groups, employee surveys, team brainstorms, executive discussions, and more to define new values and principles that accurately represent Spotnana today. It was important that this wasn’t done solely by HR or the executive team. We wanted input across our global workforce to ensure it resonated with every employee regardless of location, department, etc.
At our annual global offsite last month, we unveiled our three new core values to our global employee base. Our values highlight what we believe and stand for. Each value has three corresponding operating principles that define how to embody these values and make them actionable.
Without further ado, I’m excited to share Spotnana’s new values and operating principles.
Build the Future
- We are leaders – We are transforming an industry that connects billions of people. We are challenging the status quo, breaking down barriers, and bringing positive change.
- We are innovators – We embrace iteration and continuous improvement to be better today than we were yesterday. We don’t wait for something to happen, we make it happen.
- We are ambitious – We are steadfast in our vision and mission and do not put boundaries on what we can accomplish. We think big and don’t shy away from a challenge.
Commit to Excellence
- We are accountable – We honor our commitments, deliver results, and don’t take shortcuts. We earn trust by taking full responsibility and ownership for our work and our actions.
- We are partners – We view our customers and partners as an extension of ourselves. We are passionate about understanding and solving their needs, maintaining their trust, and exceeding their expectations.
- We are agile – We remain flexible and adjust to the ever-changing conditions in our pursuit of building and scaling a generational company. We view change as an opportunity for growth.
Stronger Together
- We lead with respect and integrity – We do the right thing, even when no one is watching. We are kind, humble, and honest. We act with respect at all times, and we believe how we treat each other and our partners is just as important as the work we do.
- We are inclusive – We achieve more together than we do alone. We prioritize knowledge sharing, clear communication, and teamwork. We support and listen to one another, value what makes us each unique, and actively seek different perspectives to make us stronger.
- We are lifelong learners – We invest in the growth and development of ourselves, each other, and the team. We maintain a solutions mindset, continuously raise the bar, and view failure as an opportunity to learn.

We are a global company with employees across multiple time zones. Our new values help us simplify decision-making, set clearer expectations, and reduce the impact of being a distributed workforce. When we have values and principles that we believe in and live out, we create an environment where every Spotter can thrive and do their best work.
I’m excited about what’s ahead for our team as we continuously embed these new values and principles into everything we do. We are building the future, committing to excellence, and becoming stronger together as we pursue our goal of reimagining the future of travel together with our growing community of customers and partners.
